Tina Colbourne

My earliest memory of painting was at 8 years old living in Newfoundland, Canada. I took my paint set down to the shoreline and painted a seal on a big rock on the beach.

My greatest love is animals and nature. Growing up I aspired to be a veterinarian but decided to start a family instead. I didn't pick up a paintbrush for 18 years until I had to stop working due to breast cancer. After my fight with cancer I became a stay at home mom. My father gave me some art supplies for my birthday and I started painting again. I decided to paint what I was most passionate about and that was nature and wildlife.

My greatest idol growing up was Robert Bateman. I aspire to create the same drama and emotion that he brings into his paintings. I would love to also create awareness with my paintings like he has throughout his lifetime.

  • Shipping?
I currently ship to Canada and USA free of charge. Please inquire about international shipping.
  • How do you price your paintings?
Currently I charge per square inch for my paintings.
  • Do I take commissions?
Although I took commissions in the past for pets and wildlife paintings, I don't take them any longer. I found them to be too stressful and not emotionally enriching. I feel art has to come from within one's soul, and when you are not enjoying what you are painting you can see it in the work.
